Pittore fiammingo del XVII secolo, Sant’Egidio da Nimes . Dipinto su carta pergamena, il soggetto deriva dal Sant’Egidio da Nimes come eremita di Raphael Sadeler del 1594, oggi al Rijks museum. In basso è presente l’iscrizione latina “Omnia subjecisti sub pedibus ejus, oves et boves universas insuper et pecora campi” Psal 8. “Hai sottomesso ogni cosa sotto i suoi piedi, tutte le pecore e i buoi, e anche tutte le greggi dell’accampamento”. Dimensioni ext. 25×30, int. 18×23 cm.
Flemish painter of the 17th century, Saint Giles. Painted on parchment paper, the subject derives from Raphael Sadeler’s Saint Aegidius of Nimes as a Hermit of 1594, now in the Rijks museum. At the bottom appears the Latin inscription “Omnia subjecisti sub pedibus ejus, oves et boves universas insuper et pecora campi”, Psalm 8: “You have subdued everything under his feet, all the sheep and oxen, and also all the flocks in the camp.”. Dimensions w. frame 9.8×11.8 in., sight 7.1×9.1 in.
