Description

Engraving from the Flemish painter Chrispijn van den Broeck (1523 – ca. 1591). It bears the inscription ‘CHRISTUS IEUS inter natos mulierum neminem Prophetarum IOANNE BAPTISTA sed minorem in regno Dei, maiorem illo esse dixit. Lucae. 7.’ Sadl excud.’ Bears the two monograms ‘CVB’ and HCF’, flaws present, unframed. Copper engraving, dimensions 8.8×7.2 in.
