Engraving on laid paper from the first edition of the Diderot and dD’Alembert’s ‘Encyclop?die, ou dictionnaire raisonn? des sciences, des arts et des m?tiers’ of 1751 – 1766. Signature at the bottom ‘Sur le Dessins de M.r Belin – Ingenieur de la Marine’ and the inscription ‘Marine, Fig … Coupe d’un Vaisseau dans toute sa longueur. Fig. 2 Coupe d’une Galere dans tout sa longueur’, flaws present, unframed. Copper engraving, dimensions 16.1×26.9 in.
