Description

Le citt? del mondo’ was conceived as a complement to the world atlas ‘Theatrum Orbis Terrarum’ (1572) by Abraham Ortelius and features numerous valuable bird’s eye views of the cities illustrated. In the upper right side there is a cartouche with the inscription ‘Posonium uel Pisonium ut Lazius Hungariae urbs’; on laid paper, flaws present and unframed. Copper engraving, dimensions 14.5×20.2 in.
