Comparable in composition to the specimen in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, it stands on three sphinxes in gilded copper and coral. The inkwell comes from the collection of Ing. Antonio Virga and published in ‘Trapanese coral in the 16th and 17th centuries’ edited by Maria Concetta di Natale, Brescia 2002, p. 71. Overall dimensions 13.3×4.3×4.3 in., present defects
