Toilet set in vermeil, silversmiths Marie Joseph Gabriel Genu and Marcel Jacquart early 19th century
Valuable set consisting of five silver-gilt containers, all bearing the initials of General Frédéric Henri Walther, who was commander of the light cavalry of the Napoleonic Imperial Guard during the Russian Campaign. Walther, Commander of the Order of the Iron Crown and appointed Colonel of the Mounted Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard until the year of his death in 1813, is today buried at the Pantheon and his name is inscribed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The set consists of two finely engraved and embossed biansate vessels and three cylindrical smooth-bodied vessels; total weight 1496 gr.
