Description

Engraving made on laid paper and taken from a painting by Andrea Schiavone (Zara, 1510/1515 ? Venice, 1563) dated 1555-60, now in the Kunshistorisches Museum in Vienna. It bears the inscription ‘A. Schiavone p. – 4 Alta 6 Lata – Q. Boel f.’. On the back, almost illegible, stamp ‘Macfarlane Collection’, flaws present, unframed. Copper engraving, dimensions 6.4×8.6 in.
