Description
Engraving made from a work by Giovanni Stradano (Bruges, 1523 – Florence, 2 November 1605). It bears at the top the inscription ‘O mors quam amara est memoria tua homini pacem habenti in substantiis suis: etc Eccl. Cap. XLI.’, at the bottom ‘Divitibus mors dura venit, redimita corona Anguifera, et risus ultima luctus habet’. At the bottom it bears the inscription ‘…Stradan Academic Florentinus figurault’ and ‘Raphael Sadeler Sculpsit Venetiis’. Flaws present, unframed. Copper engraving, dimensions 8.2×11 in.
