Cornelis Jacobsz Delff (Gouda 1571 – Delft 1643), Still life with goose, fruit bowl, basin with artichokes and plate of fish
This panel, elegantly decorated by the naturamortist Delff, can be dated to the second quarter of the 17th century and is currently catalogued by the Fondazione Zeri as a work by the Dutch artist.
Typical of the painter’s production are the copper and brass tableware and the presence – as in this case – of fish and birds with soft plumage, rendered with great skill and compositional vigour.
